Lamakaan - Through My Eyes...!!!

                      LAMAKAAN – OPEN TO ALL

The day we heard about Lamakaan, it was like - what is this place, why would they call it Lamakaan, what’s the meaning of Lamakaan…so many strange questions popped up my mind.

It was almost 6.30pm and we started on bike to find this place, all we knew was that Lamakaan is opposite to GVK One Mall. But our good old android friend ‘Navigator’ helped us directly to the huge white gate where it was written ‘Lamakaan’ – follows the white & black theme.
I realized Lamakaan is a place for people - those people who would want to be on their own, think differently from others with not much care about how others would react - an open space for everyone...
Wish to sit idle and gaze at the sun or the greenery or do you wish to have a lonely time all by yourselves then Lamakaan is the perfect place...
BE YOU..INDULGE..
The building was owned by Hassan Saab, the founder member of Save Rocks, a Photographer who valued black & white photography so much that we could find them hanging on the walls of the building, and an environmentalist who strongly believed that mankind should not go against the nature by demolishing beautiful rock forms and cutting down the trees.
Faces behind Lamakaan...so modest that they are seen very rarely on screen...Farhan, Elahe and Humera...
The place is a combination of huge trees, rocks...it’s like the place is trying to incorporate the pleasantness of environmental values in our day to day lives.
Lamakaan - huge rock formations, age old trees shedding their leaves at different seasons...wide range of people from all over Hyderabad...

I was infact fascinated with the way the trees have forcefully grown into the grills or walls of Lamakaan...huge trees spreading all over providing shade and fresh air to the people around…
Lamakaan is about people...the arts, culture, literature, music, debuts, theater...what not...
Idling away all your time @Lamakaan with free wifi is much more fun than anything in this world...not to forget gazing at others, gossiping and much more.
And not to forget the smoke lovers, you do have a separate smoking zone...but make sure to throw the cigar butts in the bins..
not disturbing the flora and fauna of the place..
Oh wow...to our surprise we could find so many people from different backgrounds indulged in their own world...several group of people sitting around putting together their thoughts...
An Open Cultural Space...
if nothing else we have our Events that happen in the Evenings most of them are Free Entry or might cost nothing more than a 100 bucks...
Lamakaan getting ready for yet another event..indulge in the events & watch out the wide spread culture...
Startup Saturdays are now held at Lamakaan..the best option for budding entrepreneurs who have plans to start on their own businesses yet couldn't identify WHAT, HOW, WHERE, WHEN...
meet the intellectuals sharing their experiences & great insights...
It is a place for upcoming artists (tv or movie people, story writers, directors, song writers, singers...), college goers who would want to sit together and have combined study or work on some project, few simply sit and chat, few come here just for some Chai & Samosa...
On the menu is a variety of items in Gujarati Style..
Imagine a bowl of rice & yummy chicken curry costing you just 100 bucks..the menu is different...entirely not the regular one...
Lassi being my favorite @30 bucks...strong coffee...not to forget the Nimbu Paani @15 bucks && Kheema Mutter...just so fond of the taste & memories...
our favorite KK Bhayya with Samosa and Mirchi...
Not to forget the Organic Bazaar held on Sunday every month..
Guys just visit Lamakaan and am sure you will keep on visiting...
My memories with Lamakaan are ever ending...I miss this place so much that my world fell apart when I had to leave Hyderabad...such a lovely place with numerous memories...am overwhelmed with joy & happiness that I found this place and have been a part of my life...LAMAKAAN...
